Agreement to terms
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of PageBack, including the website at pageback.app, the iOS application, and any related services (collectively, the "Service"), operated by Paul Edwards ("we", "us", or "our").
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. By using PageBack, you represent that you meet this age requirement.
Your account
Creating an account is optional. Many features of PageBack work without an account. If you create an account, you are responsible for maintaining the security of your credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us promptly of any unauthorised use.
You may delete your account at any time from the Settings screen. Account deletion permanently removes your profile, social data, cloud sync data, and server-side files. Local files on your device are not affected.
User content
PageBack is an e-reader for your personal documents. You retain full ownership of any files you import. We do not claim any rights over your content.
You are solely responsible for ensuring that you have the legal right to store, read, and (where applicable) sync the documents you import into PageBack. We do not distribute, host, or provide copyrighted content.
Subscriptions and payments
PageBack offers optional paid subscriptions (PageBack Plus and PageBack Premium) that unlock additional features including cloud sync, cross-device reading, and AI-powered reading tools.
Billing
On iOS, subscriptions are billed through Apple's App Store as auto-renewable subscriptions. On the web, subscriptions are billed through Stripe. Prices are displayed before purchase and may vary by region.
Auto-renewal
Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period (monthly) unless you cancel before the renewal date. You will be charged the same price as your initial subscription unless we notify you of a price change in advance.
Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time. On iOS, manage your subscription through Apple Settings > Subscriptions. On the web, use the Manage Subscription option in Settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you retain access to paid features until then.
Refunds
Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple in accordance with their refund policies. For web purchases, contact us at no-reply@pageback.app within 14 days of purchase.
Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to store, transmit, or distribute content that is unlawful, infringing, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable. You agree not to attempt to interfere with, compromise, or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure.
AI features
PageBack offers optional AI-powered features (such as metadata enrichment, summaries, and reading tools) that use third-party AI services. These features send limited metadata or excerpts to our servers for processing. AI-generated content is provided for convenience and may not always be accurate. You can review and override any AI-generated data at any time.
Intellectual property
The Service, including its design, code, branding, and documentation, is owned by us and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to use our trademarks, logos, or branding without prior written consent.
Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. We are not responsible for the accuracy or completeness of AI-generated content.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the Service. You may stop using the Service at any time. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases, but provisions that by their nature should survive (such as limitations of liability) will continue to apply.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
Governing law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
